Antenatal classes help you to prepare physically and emotionally for the birth of your baby. Our program is run over a 4 week period and is structured into 1 session a week; you should attend these classes from 28 / 30 weeks into your pregnancy.

They will provide an opportunity to answer any questions you have about the pregnancy and birth process. We offer a ladies only class as well as a couples class, where your partner will have the chance to be involved in the preparations for labour and birth support.

It's also an opportunity to meet other parents-to-be. Our classes are booked according to your due date, so you will get to meet a group of women whose babies will be born at a similar time.

The program covers the following topics:

  • Tips for staying comfortable during the last few weeks of pregnancy
  • Options for labour and delivery/birth positions
  • Signs that labour might be about to begin
  • What to do if you think you might be in labour
  • When to go to hospital
  • What to expect during the first stage of labour
  • Pain management during labour (pros and cons)
  • What to expect during the second stage of labour
  • What will happen should any complications arise during labour
  • What to expect if you need to have a caesarian section
